Qualifications
I have 40+ years accounting experience. I began doing the bookkeeping for my father’s general contracting business as a teen-ager. Over the next 25 years, I worked-my-way-up the accounting department ladder to hold positions such as Director of Finance, Chief Financial Officer & Controller. The following 15+ years were spent in the public accounting field (CPA firms) during which time I expanded my knowledge from merely bookkeeping to
accounting. I gained extensive experience in new business start-ups, accounting and interpretation of financial statements, preparation of GAAP and OCBOA financial statements, managerial accounting and reporting, cost accounting, revenue enhancement
techniques, inventory management, accounting and tax consultation to businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals, tax planning and preparation, business closures and liquidations and accounting for estates and trusts. During my career I have
experience in wide variety of industries including wholesale and retail fuel, various non-profits, building supply wholesales, general contracting, building trades, veterinary medicine, bakeries, multi-store franchises, property management, manufacturing,
commercial printing, auto sales and repairs, home-health care, medical, dental, chiropractic, restaurants, golf courses and country clubs, hotels and resorts, import and export, interstate transportation, and homeowners’ associations.
25+ years tax return preparation experinece. Federal and state income tax return preparations for individuals and all forms of business entities including corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs, LLPs, and sold proprietors.
15+ years tax planning experience for individuals and businesses including tax services for individuals with financial interests in multiple, closely-held businesses.
8+ years auditing experience. Performed financial audits of local governmental agencies, for profit businesses and non-profit organizations. Performed compliance audits of local governments, hospitals, non-profits and colleges. Experience with Workers’ Compensation Insurance audits, business insurance audits, tax agency audits including local, state and federal.
BS in Accounting. Earned Bachelor of Science degree from CSUSBPD in 2003 with high honors. Current member of The Golden Key International Honor Society and Alpha Beta Gamma. Completion of selected graduate classes in accounting and taxation.
Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Certified in QuickBooks 2007 – 2010; QuickBooks user since 1999.
